Bapfan plans your week of home cooking. This page explains what information the app uses, where it goes, and the choices you have. The short version: Bapfan works on your phone without an account, we don't show ads, we don't track you across other apps or websites, and we never sell your information.
Using Bapfan without an account
Your household size, meal choices, cuisines, cravings, allergies and diet, kitchen equipment, budget, your week's plan, grocery check-offs and favorites are stored only on your iPhone. Allergy and diet choices are used on the phone to keep unsafe dishes out of your plan.
Cooking together (optional account)
If you choose Sign in with Apple to share a week with someone in your household, we store:
- the identifier Apple gives us for your account, and the name and email Apple shares with us (you can choose to hide your email; Apple then gives us a private relay address);
- your household: its members' display names, the shared preferences and cravings (including allergies and diet choices you entered), the weekly plans, grocery check-offs and favorites;
- a push notification token for your phone, so your household can be told when the shared week changes.
This information is visible to the members of your household and to no one else. It is stored with our database provider, Supabase, in the United States.
Notifications
Weekly reminders (the cravings reminder and "next week's plan is ready") are scheduled on your phone. Notifications about changes your partner makes are sent through Expo's push notification service and Apple Push Notification service, and contain only the change, for example "Three-Cup Chicken replaces Bulgogi on Tuesday".
App updates
Bapfan downloads app updates from Expo's update service. Like any web request, this shares your device's IP address and basic device information (such as iOS version) with Expo. It does not include your preferences or plans.
What we don't do
- No advertising, and no ad or tracking SDKs.
- No selling or renting of your information, and no sharing for marketing.
- No location, contacts, photos, camera or microphone access.
- Bapfan doesn't give medical advice. Health-related choices such as "slower carbs" only shape which recipes are suggested.
Testing with TestFlight
If you test Bapfan through TestFlight, Apple shares crash reports and any feedback or screenshots you choose to send with us, under Apple's privacy policy.
Keeping and deleting your information
Information on your phone stays until you delete it (Me → Reset everything) or delete the app. If you have an account, you can delete it anytime in Me → Account → Delete account. This deletes your account and sign-in and removes you from your household; a household with no other members is deleted with you, and a partner keeps the shared week. You can also email us to ask for a copy of your information or its deletion.
Children
Bapfan is not directed to children under 13, and we don't knowingly collect information from them.
Changes
If this policy changes, we'll update this page and the date above, and tell you in the app if the change is significant.
